About

Genesis Gil is a 20-something 4th year student at the University of Santo Tomas (Manila, Philippines), taking up a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, and is an aspiring medical doctor.

Despite being in the field of science, he has always been passionate in the world of arts and letters, spending most of his free time writing prose and poetry, creating art in both traditional and digital medium, performing spoken word poetry and producing short films. His passion for the arts and sciences enables him to raise his voice in his advocacy in fighting the stigma towards mental illness and eradicating illiteracy and hunger in children suffering from poverty.

Today, he is pursuing his writing career and philanthropic endeavors, searching for collaborators, sponsors, and publishers that support his advocacy. He has written a children’s book entitled “The Pencil and the Candle” with hopes to influence children and adults alike in finding their purpose in life. Currently, he is working on more children’s books which target children suffering from bullying, loss, poverty and depression, equipping them with values in dealing with the hardships of life at an early age.

CAFFEINE-FUELED ZOMBIES exists with the same purpose, exploring the philosophy and essence of life, finding relief in humor and frivolity, and expressing love and emotion through art and literature; sharing his stories and translating them into universal human experiences.
